We have three more bits of information concerning coaching changes.
Robbie Graham is the new girls’ coach at Clark County. Robbie has been an assistant with the boys at Clark for the past seven years. Scott True leaves Clark after about eleven years to take over the Lexington Catholic program.
Dwayne Hogan is the girls coach at a brand new Thomas Nelson High School. Thomas Nelson is located in Nelson County. Dwayne was an assistant with the girls at Nelson County High School last season.
The head job at Atherton is listed as open on the KHSAA Site. Melissa Early was head coach there last season.

Transylvania University announces two additions to their 2012 commitments: Alex Botkin of Lexington Catholic and Katelyn Smith of Perry Central.
Kierra Muhammed of Dunbar, a member of the Class of 2013, has verbally committed to Western Kentucky University.

The Kentucky AAU High School Tournament will take place at the Kentucky Basketball Academy in Lexington on June 7-10. As opposed to the AAU age group tournaments such as 14U, 16U, or whatever consisting of players from all over on a certain team, the High School Tournament is for complete high schools teams and have to be coached by a member of the school coaching staff.
Not all teams in the state take part in this tournament. There is an entry fee. I would say the usual number of teams to take part in this tournament is about three dozen.
The teams are divided into pools and pool play takes up the first couple of days. Saturday afternoon, all teams go into bracket play (every team takes part in bracket play no matter how they did in their pools).
By Sunday morning, they are usually down to the semi-finals. The championship game is usually the middle of the afternoon.
Last summer, Anderson County defeated Madison Central and Clay County did in Louisville Butler in the final 4 with Anderson taking Clay for the championship.
In conjunction with the varsity tournament, there is also a JV tournament. A team can choose to take part in both varsity and JV or just do one or the other. Usually there are about a dozen JV teams.
Last year in the JV competition, it was Lincoln County over Assumption and Leslie County over Letcher Central in the semi’s. Lincoln defeated Leslie for the title.

It seems Owensboro Catholic’s Rebecca Greenwell is back. While playing on a national team last summer, she blew her ACL and then missed this last season entirely. But recently she played her way onto the 17U National team again. She is currently ranked as high as number six in the nation in one of those rating services.
