This is really a quick one today. Just a few words to let folks know how the Kentucky juniors did against the Indiana juniors the past two nights.
Friday night in Indiana, there must not have been a lot of defense played by either team. Indiana defeated Kentucky 101-98. Rebecca Greenwell of Owensboro Catholic, one of the top high school players in the nation, led Kentucky with 44 points. Larryn Brooks of Madison Central scored 22. Kyvin Goodin-Rogers of Marion County was the only other Kentucky player in double figures with 11.
Last night at North Oldham High School here in Kentucky, Indiana repeated, this time by a score of 78-68. Greenwell led Kentucky in scoring again, this time with 16 points. Whitney Hartlage of Mercy scored 14. Goodin-Rogers completed the Kentucky players in double figures with 12.
On the boys’ side, according to the score listed in the Lexington Herald-Leader, on Friday night Indiana defeated Kentucky 101-98. On Saturday, Kentucky won 81-71.
LRM NOTE: I know that repeated score of 101-98 looks suspicious, but that is the score in the paper. I added up the girls’ individual scoring on the Kentucky side Friday and they did add up to 98.

Parker McCalister is the new girls’ coach at Webster County. Parker has in the past been an assistant at Hopkins Central and then Madisonville North Hopkins. Christina Dacy Whitsell gave up the job after about 4 or 5 years so as to start a family.
